I am a multidisciplinary artist, primarily a painter and sculptor. I enjoy working with organic shapes, patterns, and colors. Most of my artwork is abstract. I strive to create a strong visual impact using simple structures. I want the pieces to be balanced, energized, and compelling. I’m experimenting with flat forms morphing into three dimensions–a drawing or painting that extends out into space. In my stop motion videos, I explore movement, sound, and story telling.

My studio is in the attic of my home, in Tewksbury, New Jersey, USA, an hour's drive from NYC. Windows look out on trees, farmland, and hills, and bring in natural light. Stanley the dog is my studio companion.

Tewksbury is in Lenapehoking, the homeland of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape People. I respectfully acknowledge their past and present connection to the land.

Beth O'Grady was born in 1960, raised in Princeton, and lives with her husband and two children in Tewksbury, New Jersey.

She earned a BFA from Parsons School of Design/The New School, NYC, and a BS from The Pennsylvania State University.

O'Grady formerly worked as an editorial illustrator for magazines and newspapers, and as a graphic designer.

She shows her artwork locally and internationally. Most recently, at the 2021 Biennale internationale d'art nonobjectif in Grenoble; with the IFcollectif in Sete, Nîmes, and Perpignan, France; at
GLOAM Gallery, Sheffield, UK, in 2022; and in 2023 at Whittemore, in Oldwick, NJ, and the Hunterdon Art Museum, Clinton, NJ.
